To those who say "Judge not, lest ye be judged", here is the true meaning of that verse...
For those of us who don’t agree with gays/lesbians, we are accused of judging others, we are hated for our views. But what we need to remember is that we are not really the ones being hated and we are not the ones judging. The Lord has already judged this behavior. Those who hate us really hate the Lord.
John 7:7
"The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil."
Matthew 7:1-5
"Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye."
The beam is our own judgement. When we take that beam out, we see the Lord’s judgements, the truth. Then we are able to help others see too by helping them take the mote out of their eye too by realizing it is the Lord’s judgements that are right and true, and not our own.
John 7:24 "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment."
We are to judge with righteous judgement which means, once we see clearly what is right and wrong in the Lord's eyes, not in our own views.
The Lord has judged that these things are wrong:
Romans 1:22-31
“22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

Romans 1:15-19
“15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.”
Matthew 19:4-6
"4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder."
This means you cannot change what God has already made and ordained to be right into something you think is right.
If we have a matter against someone, we go to the Lord, not to the law of the land. The Lord is the judge, not man. Those who understand that the Lord is right and man is wrong (have the beam removed from their eyes) shall judge others with righteous judgement (the Lord’s judgement)…
1 Corinthians 6:1-8
“1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? 2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.
7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?
8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.”
Who are the unrighteous?
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
“9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”
But there is still hope. Even those who are unrighteous can take the beam out of their eye, call unto the Lord for forgiveness of their sins, ask for salvation through Jesus Christ, and can be saved, washed clean, sanctified and justified by Jesus’ blood and receive the Spirit of God…
1 Corinthians 6:11
“11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”

To Believe, or Not To Believe - That Is The Question
It is wonderful to live in a free country. Thank the Lord we have such
freedoms.
"Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things. Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel: Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.”
“Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:”
“If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.”
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.”
“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.”

Just because some people don't believe in God does not mean He is not
real or true. The Lord is alive and Jesus did die on the cross for those who
will believe. He doesn't make us believe, He gives us that choice... much like
our law of freedom of religion. But just because someone doesn't believe the
Bible does not mean God isn't real. His Will will always prevail no matter
what. One day all eyes will see, one day all ears will hear, one day all will
know, but not all will go.
The Lord’s Word is not bound by unbelief…

Some will be called, but not all will be called… only the “elect”

2 Timothy 2:10-11“Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:”
If we believe in the Lord, He will take us with Him. If we deny the
Lord is real, He will deny us too…
2 Timothy 2:12-13“If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.”
Those who believe are to study His Word and tell others of the gospel
of the Lord. We are to refrain from arguing over His Word because this could
cause us to sin in how we respond to others if it is without compassion and
love…

“Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord
that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the
hearers.Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.”
Regardless of whether or not you believe, God is real, His Word is
true, He standeth sure and faithful…
2 Timothy 2:19“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
In this world, there are those who believe and those who don’t. We are
all made for a purpose. Either we are for the Lord (vessels of gold and silver,
for honour) or we are against the Lord (vessels of wood and earth, for dishonor)…
“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.”
How do we become a vessel unto honour? Purge ourselves from all sin and
iniquity by asking the Lord Jesus to forgive us of our sin and cleanse us and
make us pure by His blood that He sacrificed on the cross for our sins…
2 Timothy 2:21
“If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto
honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good
work."
We MUST have FAITH…
Hebrews 11:1-2“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.”
Think about it like this…
Hebrews 11:3“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”
There had to be a human for a human to be born, there had to be a plant
seed for a plant to grow. There had to be the parent before there could be
offspring. These had to grow from something or in someone in order to be
formed. Babies cannot grow outside of the womb. How else did humans get here if
not by the Lord making us and putting us here? There is no logical explanation
other than the Lord Himself!

Passover Day 1 - Part 3 - April 4th, 2015, Saturday afternoon - Nisan 14th
We saw, from part 2 of this series, the specifics of the sacrificial
Passover lamb. In this part I would like to discuss these specifics further.
We are instructed to keep this Passover sacrifice and meal “for ever” so we can see and know when
the Prophet the Lord will send to us (like unto Moses) has
come.
The specifics:
·
The blood
is the sign to the Lord that we have obeyed His command of the Passover. If
He does not see the blood the plague will be upon us to destroy us:

You must
be circumcised in order to eat the Passover:

The bones
could not be broken:
This is one
law for everyone (Israelite, Jew, Gentile, Greek, foreigner, stranger,
homeborn, etc.)
Moses wrote the laws (which God had commanded for them) and commanded
that it be read to the people at the end
of every seven years. It was to be read aloud to everyone so that they
could hear, learn, and understand their history and relate it to their present
and their futures, and fear the Lord.
It is important to understand the specifics of this Passover sacrifice because the Lord gave it to us to make atonement
for our souls:

Leviticus 17:11
"11 For the life of the flesh is in
the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for
your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul."
The Lord also told us in the Torah (the first five books of the Bible)
that He would send to us a Prophet like Moses and that we should listen to Him. He gave us specifics for this
Prophet too:

Deuteronomy 18:15-22
“15 The Lord thy God will raise
up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me;
unto him ye shall hearken;
16 According to all that thou
desiredst of the Lord thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let
me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, neither let me see this great
fire any more, that I die not.
17 And the Lord said unto me,
They have well spoken that which they have spoken.
18 I will raise them up a
Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his
mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
19 And it shall come to pass,
that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name,
I will require it of him.
20 But the prophet, which shall
presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or
that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
21 And if thou say in thine
heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken?
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name
of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which
the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou
shalt not be afraid of him.”

Exodus 12:24
“24 And ye shall observe this thing for
an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.”

The sacrifice was to be without blemish, a male.
The whole assemble of the
congregation shall kill it. It was
to be killed in the evening.

"5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the
first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
6 And ye shall keep
it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the
congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening."

Jesus was crucified in the third hour: Mark 15:22-25
“22 And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is,
being interpreted, The place of a skull.
23 And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but
he received it not.
24 And when they had crucified him, they parted his
garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.
25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.”

Jesus dies on the Cross for our sins in the 6th
Hour: Mark 15:33-37
“33 And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness
over the whole land until the ninth hour.
34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice,
saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my
God, why hast thou forsaken me?
35 And some of them that stood by, when they heard it,
said, Behold, he calleth Elias.
36 And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put
it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether
Elias will come to take him down.
37 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the
ghost.”

shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you,
and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of
Egypt."

“26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed
it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my
body.
27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to
them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
28 For this is my blood of the New Testament, which is shed
for many for the remission of sins.
29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this
fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's
kingdom.
30 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the
mount of Olives.”

Exodus 12:43-45
"43 And the Lord said unto Moses and Aaron, This is
the ordinance of the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof:
44 But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then
shall he eat thereof.
45 A foreigner and an hired servant shall not eat
thereof."

Exodus 12:48
"48 And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and
will keep the passover to the Lord, let all his males be circumcised, and then
let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land:
for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof."

"46 In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry
forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof."

John 19:31-34
“31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation,
that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that
sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken,
and that they might be taken away.
32 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first,
and of the other which was crucified with him.
33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead
already, they brake not his legs:
34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side,
and forthwith came there out blood and water.”

Exodus 12:49
“49 One law
shall be to him that is homeborn, and
unto the stranger that sojourneth among you."

Remember, there was a mixed multitude that came out of Egypt:
Exodus 12:37-38
"37 And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about
six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children. 38 And a mixed multitude went up also with
them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.".
The time for this reading was very specific:
·
It had to
be at the end of every seven years. This was the time on the Lord’s calendar
where everyone came to the tabernacle for the feast of tabernacles to hear
about how the Lord provided for the Israelites while they were journeying in
the wilderness and had to live in tents.
·
The 7th year is the year of release
according to the Lord’s calendar where every debt was forgiven, all servants
were released to go back home, and all the land was returned to its original
owner.

Deuteronomy 31:9-13
“9 And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it
unto the priests the sons of Levi, which bare the ark of the covenant of the
Lord, and unto all the elders of Israel.
10 And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of
every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of
tabernacles,
11 When all Israel is come to appear before
the Lord thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing.
12 Gather the
people together, men and women, and
children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the Lord your God, and
observe to do all the words of this law:
13 And that their children, which have not
known any thing, may hear, and learn
to fear the Lord your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go
over Jordan to possess it.”
John 8:24-43
“24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if
ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
25 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them,
Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.
26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me
is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.
27 They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.
28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man,
then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my
Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone;
for I do always those things that please him.
30 As he spake these words, many believed on him.
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue
in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage
to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever
committeth sin is the servant of sin.

Passover Day 1 - Part 2 - April 4th, 2015 evening - Nisan 1
This is a long read, but I promise you, it is well worth the time and thought to read it.
There are questions on my mind tonight...
The Lord tells us we must have a death occur for our sins.
Leviticus 17:11
"11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul."
In the Old Testament that was a sacrificial animal such as a lamb, bull, goat, etc. The Israelites were to find one of the acceptable animals that didn't have any blemishes or spots, that wasn't hurt or imperfect in any way.
Passover represents the season of deliverance, atonement and salvation.
Exodus 12:22-27
"22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.
23 For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
24 And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.
25 And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the Lord will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.
26 And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?
27 That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the Lord's passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped."
Once the Passover sacrificial animal had been chosen, it had to stay with the family from the 10th to the 14th of the month. That's 5 days (10, 11, 12, 13, 14). I know my kids get attached to animals on the first day. Can you imagine how the Israelites got attached to the sacrificial animal they had to keep for these 5 days? They probably had to watch it, protect it, take care of it so it didn't get sick or hurt. They had to take care of this animal so it would stay free from blemish or spot.
Exodus 12:1-3, 5-6
"1 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying,
2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:"
"5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening."
Not only did they have to kill this animal they had lived with and taken care of for 5 whole days, but they had to collect its blood and put it on the two side posts and the upper door post of their houses. Then they had to roast in with fire, not raw or boiled, but roasted in the fire. They had to see the head, legs, liver, heart, and lungs of their animal roasting too. If they couldn't finish all of it they had to completely burn up the rest of it in the fire. Nothing could be left over until the morning.
Exodus 12:7-10
"7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.
10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire."
They had to eat it with their clothes and shoes on and staff in hand. They had to be ready so when Pharaoh told them to leave they could go immediately.
Exodus 12:11
"11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord's passover."
The Lord was going to pass through Egypt and kill all the firstborn of humans and animals. It was His judgment for how the Egyptians had treated the Israelites for so many years.
Exodus 12:12
"12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord."
The blood was the sign for the Israelites that they obeyed the Lord and did as He commanded them. They had sacrificed the animal's life for their own. When the Lord saw this sign, He passed over that house and no human or animal was killed for that household.
Exodus 12:13
13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt."
There are specifics as to who could and who couldn't eat the Passover sacrifice and meal:
No stranger could eat it, every male had to be circumcised before they could eat it, and a foreigner couldn't eat it.
Exodus 12:43-45
"43 And the Lord said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof:
44 But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.
45 A foreigner and an hired servant shall not eat thereof."
It had to be eaten in one house, and none of its bones could be broken.
Exodus 12:46

Every one of the Israelites had to keep this Passover sacrifice and meal according to the ordinances the Lord had commanded them.
Exodus 12:47
"47 All the congregation of Israel shall keep it."
If a stranger wanted to keep the Passover to the Lord, he and all his males had to be circumcised first. Then he was considered to be as one that was born in the land, one of the Israelites, one of the Lord's children.
Exodus 12:48
"48 And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the Lord, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof."
This was to be one law for both the Israelites ("homeborn") and for the stranger that journeyed with them.
Exodus 12:49
"49 One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you."
Remember, there was a mixed multitude that came out of Egypt.
Exodus 12:37-38 "37 And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children. 38 And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.".
Now, I have said all of this to ask these questions...
1. If they had to sacrifice the life of an animal so that their sins can be forgiven, then why aren't people still doing it now?
2. With that said, if the life of an animal could atone for their sins, how come they had to repeat it over and over again every time they sinned?
3. That brings up another question: How come it was written in the Old Testament that the Lord was no longer pleased with the sacrifice of animals?
The answers are:
1. They are not still doing the sacrifices today because the temple was destroyed and never physically rebuilt. There is no physical temple to sacrifice in:
Matthew 27:51
"51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;"
The Lord does not dwell in a physical temple:
1 Kings 8:27
"27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?"
2. The blood of animals cannot atone for sins. The sacrifice of animals cannot purge our conscience of sin. Only the blood of Jesus, perfectly sinless, the Son of God, can pay for our sins through His sacrificial death on the cross, once for all:
Hebrews 9:6-18
"6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood."
3. The Lord meant for the ordinances of sacrifices to be for our examples, a type and shadow of things to come (Jesus dying on the cross as our sacrificial Lamb.
1 Samuel 15:22
"And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams."
Psalm 51:17
"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise."
Isaiah 1:2-6
"2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the Lord hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.
3 The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.
4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.
5 Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.
6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment."

3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem."
Luke 2:25-32
"25 And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.
26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,
28 Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,
29 Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:
30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel."
The Lord gave Moses the law in Zion. The Lord gave us His Son Who preached the Word of the Lord in Jerusalem.
Luke 2:41-49
"41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.
42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.
43 And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
44 But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.
45 And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.
46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
48 And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?"
Ultimately, the real question is this:
Will you choose to die for your own sins and spend eternity in hell, or will you choose to accept Jesus as your Sacrificial Lamb Who died for your sins and live eternity in Heaven?
There are questions on my mind tonight...
The Lord tells us we must have a death occur for our sins.
Leviticus 17:11
"11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul."
In the Old Testament that was a sacrificial animal such as a lamb, bull, goat, etc. The Israelites were to find one of the acceptable animals that didn't have any blemishes or spots, that wasn't hurt or imperfect in any way.
Passover represents the season of deliverance, atonement and salvation.
Exodus 12:22-27
"22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.
23 For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
24 And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.
25 And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the Lord will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.
26 And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?
27 That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the Lord's passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped."
Once the Passover sacrificial animal had been chosen, it had to stay with the family from the 10th to the 14th of the month. That's 5 days (10, 11, 12, 13, 14). I know my kids get attached to animals on the first day. Can you imagine how the Israelites got attached to the sacrificial animal they had to keep for these 5 days? They probably had to watch it, protect it, take care of it so it didn't get sick or hurt. They had to take care of this animal so it would stay free from blemish or spot.
Exodus 12:1-3, 5-6
"1 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying,
2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:"
"5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening."
Not only did they have to kill this animal they had lived with and taken care of for 5 whole days, but they had to collect its blood and put it on the two side posts and the upper door post of their houses. Then they had to roast in with fire, not raw or boiled, but roasted in the fire. They had to see the head, legs, liver, heart, and lungs of their animal roasting too. If they couldn't finish all of it they had to completely burn up the rest of it in the fire. Nothing could be left over until the morning.
Exodus 12:7-10
"7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.
10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire."
They had to eat it with their clothes and shoes on and staff in hand. They had to be ready so when Pharaoh told them to leave they could go immediately.
Exodus 12:11
"11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord's passover."
The Lord was going to pass through Egypt and kill all the firstborn of humans and animals. It was His judgment for how the Egyptians had treated the Israelites for so many years.
Exodus 12:12
"12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord."
The blood was the sign for the Israelites that they obeyed the Lord and did as He commanded them. They had sacrificed the animal's life for their own. When the Lord saw this sign, He passed over that house and no human or animal was killed for that household.
Exodus 12:13
13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt."
There are specifics as to who could and who couldn't eat the Passover sacrifice and meal:
No stranger could eat it, every male had to be circumcised before they could eat it, and a foreigner couldn't eat it.
Exodus 12:43-45
"43 And the Lord said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof:
44 But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.
45 A foreigner and an hired servant shall not eat thereof."
It had to be eaten in one house, and none of its bones could be broken.
Exodus 12:46
46 In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof."
Every one of the Israelites had to keep this Passover sacrifice and meal according to the ordinances the Lord had commanded them.
Exodus 12:47
"47 All the congregation of Israel shall keep it."

On the Jewish calendar (God’s calendar in the Bible) this evening is
Nisan 14th. Today marks the day Jesus died on the cross for our
sins.
Two days before Passover: Matthew 26:1-2
“1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he
said unto his disciples,
2 Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son
of man is betrayed to be crucified.”
Numbers 28:16-17
“16 And in the fourteenth day of the first month is the passover of the
Lord.
17 And in the fifteenth day of this month is the feast: seven days
shall unleavened bread be eaten.”
Exodus 12:1-2

20 Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.”
Numbers 28:16-17 “16 And in the fourteenth day

Jesus’ Betrayal: Matthew

34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.”

Exodus 12:5-6
“5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye
shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.”

This is the time they were looking over their lambs making sure there were no blemishes or spots on them.

39 And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so
cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.”

15:42-47
“42 And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation,
that is, the day before the sabbath,
43 Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited
for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the
body of Jesus.
44 And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him
the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead.
45 And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.
46 And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the
linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a
stone unto the door of the sepulcher.
47 And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where he was
laid.”
“31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

Isaiah 53:1-12

3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted
with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we
esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did
esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our
iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we
are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his
own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth:
he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is
dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his
generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the
transgression of my people was he stricken.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his
death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief:
when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he
shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by
his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their
iniquities.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall
divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto
death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many,
and made intercession for the transgressors.”
