The Letters to the Angels of the Churches in Revelation - Part 1

Introduction to the book of Revelation
This is where we find out who is speaking, what the context is, who is involved, what/who this is about, etc.?

Who is speaking, to whom are they speaking?
Revelation 1:1-2
“1 The Revelation of Yeshua Christ, which Elohim gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
2 Who bare record of the word of Elohim, and of the testimony of Yeshua Christ, and of all things that he saw.”

Abba gave His Son Yeshua the things which would shortly come to pass, so He could show His servants (His disciples and us). Yeshua sent His angel to John, His servant, to show John these visions.

What we are to do with this information…
Revelation 1:3
“3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.”

We are to read and hear the words in this book of prophecy. We are to keep these things that are written in it because “the time is at hand”, meaning it won’t be long until these things happen.

What does it mean to read, hear, and keep the words in this book?
Let’s look at the Hebrew meanings of these words to find out…

“Read” = Hebrew “qara” = to call out to, call (for, forth, upon), cry (unto), invite, mention, (give) name, preach, make proclamation, be announced, pronounce, publish, read, say; read aloud; utter a loud sound.

“Hear” = Hebrew “shama” = attention, obedience; to tell; call (gather) together, consent, consider, be content, declare, diligently, discern, give ear, make to hear, tell, listen, be obedient, obey, perceive, (make a) proclamation, publish, regard, report, shew (forth), make a sound, tell, understand, whosoever (heareth), witness; hear exultantly of their fate; hear with attention, interest, listen to; understand; listen, give heed; consent, agree; obey, be obedient; yield to; hear and answer, hear and deliver; be regarded, obeyed; { he caused the people (accusative) to hear and respond, i.e. he assembled them}.

“Keep” = Hebrew “shamar” = be-ward, be circumspect, take heed to self, keeper, self, mark, look narrowly, observe, to hedge about, Guard; to protect, attend to, preserve, regard, reserve, wait for, watchman.

Who is this book written to?
Revelation 1:4-6
“4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;
5 And from Yeshua Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto Elohim and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”

John is writing to the 7 churches in Asia, letting them know these words come from him, Abba, the 7 Spirits before Abba’s throne, Yeshua (the faithful Witness and 1st begotten of the dead, the Prince of the kings of the earth) Who made us kings and priests unto Yeshua and Abba.

Confirmation of Who this is from…
Revelation 1:7
“7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.”

Yeshua will come with clouds and everyone will see Him, this includes those who pierced Him, everyone on the earth will see Him.

Revelation 1:8
“8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith Adonai, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”

Abba and Yeshua are the beginning and the ending, the first and the last, the Alpha and Omega, They are EVERYTHING – which was, which is, and which is to come – the Almighty.

Who is the one conveying this information to us, what is the context of this information, who is this written to?
Revelation 1:9-11
“9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Yeshua Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of Elohim, and for the testimony of Yeshua Christ.
10 I was in the Spirit on Adonai's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.”

John was taken, in the Spirit on Shabbat, to the isle of Patmos. He heard a Great Voice behind him talking like as a trumpet telling him to write this book of prophecy to the 7 churches.

Who/What John saw…
Revelation 1:12-15
“12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.”

John saw Yeshua standing behind him in the midst of 7 golden candlesticks, clothed with a garment down to His food and girt about his legs and hips with a golden girdle. Yeshua’s head and hair were white and His eyes were flames. Yeshua’s feet were glowing hot brass and His voice sounded like a lot of waters (could also mean like a lot of languages).

Revelation 1:16
“16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.”

Yeshua was holding 7 stars in His right hand and His mouth was like a sharp two-edged sword (His Words “cut both ways” – hurt you to the bone but are healing). Yeshua’s countenance shines bright like the sun in strength.

How Yeshua describes Himself:
Revelation 1:17-18
“17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”

Yeshua, Who was born on this earth as the Son of Adonai, Who walked and taught the Torah to everyone, Who suffered blead and died for out disobedience to Abba’s Word, He is the First and the Last, He is the One Who lived, died, and Who lives ever more. Yeshua is the One Who has the keys of hell and of death, He knows the Way the Truth and the Life because He is the Way the Truth and the Life. He showed us how to “work out our faith” by following Abba’s Torah.

Philippians 2:12
“12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”

Isaiah 53
“1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of Adonai revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of Elohim, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and Adonai hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it pleased Adonai to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Adonai shall prosper in his hand.
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.”

Abba is giving Yeshua, Who is giving to John, the visions of the things which are and which shall be…
Revelation 1:19
“19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;”

The Mystery of the 7 Stars and the 7 Golden Candlesticks:
Revelation 1:20
“20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.”

The 7 Stars = the 7 Angels of the 7 churches
The 7 Candlesticks = the 7 churches

So Yeshua is surrounded by the 7 churches and in His Hand are the Angels of those 7 churches.

Keep in mind, these letters are from Abba to Yeshua so He could give them to His servants. Yeshua gave them to His angel, and the angel then gave them to John to write down for the churches. I submit to you that these letters were so these churches would know where they stood in Abba’s eyes. They were also for the angels of these churches because the angels are responsible for helping these churches get through the problems they have and helping these churches to correct those problems (as seen through Abba’s eyes, not man’s eyes). We see this in Luke 4 and in Psalm 91…

Luke 4:9-12
“9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of Elohim, cast thyself down from hence:
10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:
11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
12 And Yeshua answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt Adonai thy Elohim.”

The promise referred to in Luke is found in Psalm, given to everyone that dwells in the Secret Place of the Most High, who also will abide under the Shadow of the Almighty…

Psalm 91:1, 9-16
“1 He that dwelleth in the Secret Place of the most High shall abide under the Shadow of the Almighty.”
“9 Because thou hast made Adonai, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My Name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him My Salvation.”

Verse 11 above “For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.”, was told to those who were following Torah (Adonai’s Ways). I submit to you that the angels were charged to keep watch over the children of Israel who were keeping Torah, and they were charged to help the children to stay in Adonai’s Ways (Torah). These are the ones who love Adonai, who Adonai will deliver and set on high because they follow His Torah and thereby know His Name (Yeshua, His Son). Those are the ones Adonai will answer when they call, the ones He will be with in trouble, the ones Adonai will honor and give long life to and give His Salvation (Yeshua) to. The children of Israel who keep Adonai’s Torah are the ones who have this promise, and all of the promises of Adonai.

Revelation 1:12-13
“…And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man…”

“Candlestick” in Hebrew is “menorah” = noun feminine lampstand; seven-branched lampstand in tabernacle; candlestick.

“Candlestick” in Greek is “luchnia” = a lamp-stand (literally or figuratively) -- candlestick.

Yeshua was standing in the midst of the 7 golden candlesticks. The candlesticks that were made for the sanctuary in Exodus were made of pure gold.

Exodus 25:31-32, 36, 40
“31 And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work shall the candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, shall be of the same.
32 And six branches shall come out of the sides of it; three branches of the candlestick out of the one side, and three branches of the candlestick out of the other side:”
“36 …all it shall be one beaten work of pure gold.”
“40 And look that thou make them after their pattern, which was shewed thee in the mount.”

How was this candlestick to be made?
·    *     It was to be made of pure gold – Yeshua is pure, perfect, sinless (He followed Abba’s Torah perfectly).
·    *    This candlestick was to be made of beaten work - Yeshua was beaten for our transgressions of the Torah.
·    *  There were to be 3 branches on each side of the candlestick – 6 branches in total.
·    *     All of the parts for this candlestick were to be made of beaten pure gold – one complete piece, not pieces attached to each other.
·    *  This candlestick was to be made according to the pattern Adonai showed Moses of how to make it.

We know that the pattern Adonai showed Moses for how everything for the sanctuary was to be made is a shadow of how things are in Heaven:

Hebrews 8:5
“5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of Elohim when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.”

Revelation 21:10-14, 21-23
“10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from Elohim,”
11 Having the glory of Elohim: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.”
“21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
22 And I saw no temple therein: for Adonai Elohim Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of Elohim did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.”

The New Jerusalem:
·         Has the Glory of Elohim, the Light of the Lamb, Yeshua (vs.11,23).
o   Matthew 7:5-12
“5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.”

·         A great and high Wall (vs.12) with 12 gates that were the names of the tribes of the children of Israel – the only way through the Wall around New Jerusalem is through one of the 12 gates – through being one of the tribes of the children of Israel (either by birth or by being grafted into one of the tribes).
o   Matthew 7:13-14
“13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

·         The Wall has 12 foundations – the 12 apostles of Yeshua. You can only enter into the New Jerusalem if you are one of the children of the tribes of Israel and your foundation must be of the 12 disciples. Their foundation is Yeshua. Yeshua is Torah in the flesh (John 1:1). So you must be of one of the tribes of Israel and you must follow Torah as Yeshua and the disciples did – Torah must be your foundation – you must build your house on the Rock and not on the sand.
o   Matthew 7:21-27
“21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”

·         There will be no temple therein. Adonai Elohim Almighty and the Lamb Yeshua HaMashiach are the temple of the New Jerusalem (vs.22).
o   Matthew 24:1-2
“1 And Yeshua went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
2 And Yeshua said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”
o   John 2:19
“19 Yeshua answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

·         Yeshua is the Temple and the Light:
o   John 1:1-5, 9-14
“1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim.
2 The same was in the beginning with Elohim.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
“9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of Elohim, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of Elohim.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

o   John 10:22-30
“22 And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.
23 And Yeshua walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.
24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Messiah, tell us plainly.
25 Yeshua answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30 I and my Father are one.”

Yeshua is the Temple, Yeshua is the Light!

Psalm 119:105
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

Yeshua is the Torah made flesh – the Lamp. Yeshua is the Light of the Lamp. Yeshua lights our path through Himself. Yeshua is Torah and Light, Spirit and Truth!

John 14:10-21
“10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”

1 John 2:3-6
“3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of Elohim perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.”

We are to follow Yeshua and walk as He walked, in Torah. We can see this in Yeshua’s prayer to our Father, Abba, in Heaven…

John 17
“1 These words spake Yeshua, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true Elohim, and Yeshua HaMashiach, whom thou hast sent.
4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

Israel needs to hear of Yeshua throughout the Torah

Romans 10:1-5
"1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them."

From these verses we see:
Vs.2 - The Israelites had a zeal for Adonai, but they didn't understand His Torah in the spiritual sense that shows Yeshua is our Salvation.
Vs.3 - Since they are unaware of God’s way of making people righteous and instead seek to set up their own, they have not submitted themselves to God’s way of making people righteous.
Vs.4 - The goal at which the Torah aims is the Messiah Yeshua, who offers righteousness to everyone who trusts.
Vs.5 - Moshe (Moses) writes about the righteousness grounded in the Torah that the person who does these things will attain life through them.

So what did Moses write about the righteousness of the law? Here are the verses that answer that question:

Leviticus 18:1-5
"1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the Lord your God.
3 After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.
4 Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the Lord your God.
5 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the Lord."

Vs.3 - Adonai is telling us we are not to follow "the doings" (the ways, traditions, customs) of other nations; we are not to "walk in their ordinances".

The word "ordinances" in verse 3 above is the Hebrew word "chuqqah": appointed, custom, manner, ordinance, site, statute (Strong's Concordance).

We are not to walk in, follow, do the ordinances, ways, traditions, customs of other nations.

Vs.4 - Adonai is telling us we are to do His judgments, keep His ordinances, and walk in them (His judgments and His ordinances).
Vs.5 - Adonai is telling us we are to keep His statutes and His judgments. He is telling us that if we do them (keep and do/follow His statutes, His ordinances, and His judgments/His Ways) then we will "live in them", we will love through keeping, doing, following them (His statutes and His judgments and His ordinances).

Romans 2:13-15
"13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)"

From these verses we can see:
Vs.13 - It is not merely the hearers of Torah whom Adonai considers righteous. It is the doers of what Torah says who will be made righteous in Adonai’s sight.
Vs.14 - Whenever Gentiles, who have no Torah, do naturally what the Torah requires, even though they don’t have Torah, they themselves are Torah!
Vs.15 - Their lives show that the conduct the Torah dictates is written in their hearts.Their consciences also bear witness to this, for their conflicting thoughts sometimes accuse them and sometimes defend them - their conscience tells them they are doing wrong or they are doing right.

Romans 10:8-15
"8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"

From these verses we can see:
Vs.9 - If you acknowledge publicly with your mouth that Yeshua is Adonai and trust in your heart that Abba raised him from the dead, you will be delivered.
Vs.10 - With the heart one goes on trusting and thus continues toward righteousness, while with the mouth one keeps on making public acknowledgement and thus continues toward deliverance.
Vs.14 - But how can they call on someone if they haven’t trusted in him? And how can they trust in someone if they haven’t heard about him? And how can they hear about someone if no one is proclaiming him?
Vs.15 - How can people proclaim Him (Yeshua) unless Adonai sends them?

The Jews of this time didn't accept Yeshua as the Messiah. They follow Torah and they followed their father's oral traditions (the traditions of men).

Mark 7:6-7
"6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."

Yeshua was referring to this verse when He said this:
Mark 7:5 "Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?"

The elders taught that they were to wash their hands before eating anything so they would be clean. Adonai never made this a law in His commandments.

From these verses we can see:
Vs.6 - ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far away from me.
Vs.7 - Their worship of me is useless, because they teach man-made rules as if they were doctrines.’

The Jews of this time were teaching Torah as well as the traditions of their forefathers that were not part of Adonai's Torah. They believed they were doing the right thing because this is what they were taught...

Romans 2:17-29
"17 Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God,
18 And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law;
19 And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,
20 An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.
21 Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?
22 Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?
23 Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?
24 For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.
25 For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.
26 Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
27 And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?
28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God."

Paul was trying to teach the Jews that it isn't what the oral traditions of their forefathers says that is Torah. It is only what Adonai said, nothing added and nothing taken away, that is the true Torah. Paul was telling them that their forefathers and they themselves were trying to be righteous by obeying the Torah in letter only, but they needed to obey the Torah in letter and in spirit. They needed to see how Yeshua is all throughout the Torah, the Torah teaches us about salvation is only through Yeshua (His Sacrifice for our sins), as well as giving us instructions on how to live our lives, how to treat others, how to worship Adonai, and how to live a righteous life in Yeshua through following Torah like He did.

Romans 10:17-21
"17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people."

Vs.21 - All day long Esaias held out his hands to a people who kept disobeying and contradicting the Torah.

Romans 10:12
"12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him."

Vs.12 -  That means that there is no difference between Jew and Gentile — Adonai is the same for everyone, rich toward everyone who calls on him.

Yeshua taught the two men, after He resurrected, about Him starting with Moses and all the prophets, telling and showing them in all the scriptures, how the scriptures point to Him as the Messiah...

Luke 24:25-27
"25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself."

The Jews were teaching the letter of the Torah and added the words of their forefathers to it. Their error was not seeing the spiritual and the physical of the Torah, and they added to Adonai's Word. This is blasphemy...

Romans 2:23-25
"23 Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?
24 For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.
25 For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision."

Vs.24 - As it says in the Tanakh, “For it is because of you that God’s name is blasphemed by the Goyim.”
Vs.25 - For circumcision is indeed of value if you do what Torah says. But if you are a transgressor of Torah, your circumcision has become uncircumcision!

Today we see another group in err in the Word. They take away the physical of the Torah, which is also taking away from the Torah itself. They teach the Torah is no longer relevant because it "was nailed to the cross". This is also blasphemy...

Deuteronomy 4:1-2
"1 Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers giveth you.
2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you."

We are not to add to, nor take away from, the Torah (commandments, statutes, judgments, etc.) of Adonai. We are to do them (read, study, learn, understand, keep, do, and teach others to do the same) so that we can "live, and go in and possess the land" (the Kingdom of Heaven - the new heavens and the new earth) which Adonai gave us.

Vs.2 - In order to obey the mitzvot (Torah - commandments, statutes, judgments, etc.) of Abba our Adoani which He gave us, do not add to what He is saying, and do not subtract from it.

Yeshua prays to Adonai asking Him to...
John 17:17
"17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."

Vs.17 - Set them apart for holiness by means of the truth — your word is truth.

1 John 2:3-6
"3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked."

What does Yeshua say we must do in order to have eternal life?
Matthew 19:16-17
"16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments."

If we will enter into eternal life, we must keep the commandments (Torah).

Learn the Torah, the Truth. Then keep and do the Torah. Then teach the Torah to others so they can see Yeshua too.

The Torah Tells Us What Sin Is

Romans 7:9-14
“9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.
12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.”

Those who do not read the Bible, nor have ever been taught from the Bible, do not know what sin is. It’s only when they read the Word of God, or are taught from the Bible, that they realize the way they have been living their life is sinful.

The Torah tells us what sin is. Without reading and knowing Torah, we do not know that we have sinned. Torah is a “schoolmaster” in the perspective of a sinner, teaching us what sin is.

Galatians 3:22-29
“22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

Once we know what sin is, and we know that we are sinners, and we realize we need our Messiah Yeshua, then we repent and ask for forgiveness.

Then, in the perspective of a child of Yaweh, the Torah is our way of life, our instructions in how to live our lives, how to treat others and ourselves, and how to worship and honor Abba.

Galatians 4:1-6
“1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.”

Now that we have become the children of Yaweh (vs. 6 above and vs.7 below), do not turn back again to the pagan gods and their traditions and ways, thereby placing yourselves back into bondage to sin (vs.8-9 below). Don’t observe those pagan days, months, times, and years (Christmas instead of Hanukkah, Easter instead of Passover, Valentine’s Day, etc.; Secular Greek/Roman Calendar New Year; days starting with sunrise and ending with sunset instead of beginning and ending in the evening when the sun sets; months that start on the 1st of the secular Greek/Roman  calendar instead of the sliver of the new moon; secular decades and centennials on the secular Greek/Roman calendar instead of every 7th year is a Sabbath year and every 7th 7th year is a Jubilee year, etc. – see vs.10 below)…

Galatians 4:7-11
“7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.”

As children of the Most High Yaweh (Abba our Father), we should delight in His Torah as children delight in pleasing their parents when they are young…

Romans 7:22
“22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:”

Even after salvation through Yeshua, we still sin because of our flesh (the law of sin – vs.23 below). We don’t want to, but our carnal bodies do what we don’t want to do because of the fleshly nature of our bodies. It is then that we need to take control of our every action and thought and make it tame to the “the knowledge of God” (Torah of Yaweh – the law of God - vs. 25 below).

Romans 7:23-25
“23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.”

We are at war with the enemy (the adversary satan) and we must take captive our thoughts (vs. 5 below):

2 Corinthians 10:3-6
“3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”

We must put on the WHOLE ARMOUR of Yaweh:

Ephesians 6:11-18
“11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”

The “whole armour of God” is both Yeshua (Yaweh with us) and the Torah (Yaweh’s Word – Yeshua made flesh):

John 1:1-2, 9, 14
“1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.”
“9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.”
“14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

Yeshua came to die as Yaweh in the flesh so that the lost house of Israel could be remarried to Yaweh as He lives when Yeshua is resurrected (Yeshua is Yaweh, Yaweh is Yeshua, Yeshua is the Torah of Yaweh):

Romans 7:1-6
“1 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.”

Now we see another meaning of this passage:

Romans 7:7-12
“7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.
12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.”

All of the children of Israel were married to Yaweh when He took them out of Egypt, crossed the Red Sea, and received His Torah. When they were split during King Solomon’s reign, the house of Judah were separated from Yaweh and the house of Israel were divorced from Yaweh.

The house of Judah came back to Yaweh and His Ways after their 70 year separation from Him. The house of Israel (also referred to as the lost house of Israel) didn’t return to Him between the reign of King Solomon and the time Yeshua was born Yaweh in the flesh (Immanuel – Yaweh with us). In fact, they had grown so far from Yaweh that they completely forgot they were the children of Israel. They began worshiping pagan gods like the nations they were forced into when Yaweh divorced them. They grew deeper and deeper into those pagan gods and their traditions that they thought they were pagan. Even the house of Judah called them Gentiles like the native Gentiles of those nations and they didn’t accept any of them as one of their own family because Yaweh had divorced them.

If any of the house of Israel wanted to be grafted back into the children of Yaweh, they had to be circumcised physically into the house of Judah (the family line, tribe of Judah) and no longer be a member of the house of Israel.

The passage above is also referring to Yeshua born as Immanuel (God with us) Who Sacrificed Himself on the cross so that the lost house of Israel (those He came for – “the lost sheep”) could be married back into the children of Israel (the children of Yaweh) by His death as Yaweh and resurrection as Yaweh, thereby making them free from the law of marriage where a wife could not marry her 1st husband again (Yaweh) after being divorced (by Yaweh) and married to a different husband (pagan gods and nations). Yeshua’s resurrection (“the Mighty God” - Yaweh)…

John 12:15
“15 Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt.”
Isaiah 9:6-7
“6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”

Who is the Daughter of Zion?

Lamentations 1:1-11
“1 How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people! how is she become as a widow! she that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary!
2 She weepeth sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks: among all her lovers she hath none to comfort her: all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies.”

{The House of Judah}
“3 Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude: she dwelleth among the heathen, she findeth no rest: all her persecutors overtook her between the straits.
4 The ways of Zion do mourn, because none come to the solemn feasts: all her gates are desolate: her priests sigh, her virgins are afflicted, and she is in bitterness.
5 Her adversaries are the chief, her enemies prosper; for the Lord hath afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her children are gone into captivity before the enemy.”

{The Daughter of Zion - The Lost House of Israel}
“6 And from the daughter of Zion all her beauty is departed: her princes are become like harts that find no pasture, and they are gone without strength before the pursuer.
7 Jerusalem remembered in the days of her affliction and of her miseries all her pleasant things that she had in the days of old, when her people fell into the hand of the enemy, and none did help her: the adversaries saw her, and did mock at her sabbaths.
8 Jerusalem hath grievously sinned; therefore she is removed: all that honoured her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: yea, she sigheth, and turneth backward.
9 Her filthiness is in her skirts; she remembereth not her last end; therefore she came down wonderfully: she had no comforter. O Lord, behold my affliction: for the enemy hath magnified himself.
10 The adversary hath spread out his hand upon all her pleasant things: for she hath seen that the heathen entered into her sanctuary, whom thou didst command that they should not enter into thy congregation.
11 All her people sigh, they seek bread; they have given their pleasant things for meat to relieve the soul: see, O Lord, and consider; for I am become vile.”

Yeshua orders the Kingdom and establishes judgment with justice (Torah) for Yaweh’s children forever. Yeshua is Yaweh in the flesh, resurrected as Yaweh, and will reign and rule according to Yaweh’s Torah (Yeshua’s Torah also because Yeshua is Yaweh). Yeshua (Yaweh in the flesh) cannot deny Himself (Yaweh).

2 Timothy 2:13
“13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.”

It doesn’t matter if one does not believe these words, it doesn’t make them any less True. Striving about the Truth is of no profit because it will not change the fact that this is the Truth. If their eyes were open and they could see, and their ears were open and they could hear, they would know. That is why we are told not to argue over the Truth with anyone, because it only leads to increased sin on both sides of the argument.

2 Timothy 2:14-15
“14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Matthew 13:13-17
“13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.”

What is sin?

1 John 3:3-4, 7-8, 10
"3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law."
"7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil."
"10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother."

We are to be sanctified through obedience to the Torah:
John 17:17
"17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."

And we are to be purified through Yeshua (Living Torah in the flesh):
2 Corinthians 7:1
"1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."

Yeshua Teaches Us to Follow Torah

John 5:12-14
"12 And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
13 And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.
14 And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them."

Yeshua commanded him to show himself to the priest, offer for his cleansing according to what Moses commanded (which Yaweh commanded him to command His people) and this was to be for a testimony to the priest and those around them.

This is because ALL of the offerings, and the process of the offerings, represent Yeshua and His Sacrifice for our sins...

Leviticus 14:1-3
"1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought unto the priest:
3 And the priest shall go forth out of the camp; and the priest shall look, and, behold, if the plague of leprosy be healed in the leper;"

Yeshua was out of the camp when He saw the leper. He looked on him and the leper who besought Yeshua to clean him (vs.12 above in John). In vs.13 in John above, we see that the leper was immediately cleansed, healed of the leprosy. Yeshua then commanded him to offer for his cleansing (vs. 14 above in John).

Leviticus 14:4
"4 Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:

• The two birds, alive and clean, represent Yeshua and us.
• The cedar wood represents the cross on which Yeshua sacrificed Himself for our sins.
• The scarlet represents Yeshua's blood.
• The Hebrew word for “hyssop” is “ezob” (#231 in Strong’s Concordance) = an herb of purging qualities. It is a little plant that was also used for sprinkling blood on doorposts. We see this same word used to give Yeshua the vinegar when He was on the cross (Greek word “hussopos” #5301 in Strong’s Concordance = a stem or stalk of hyssop)…
John 19:28-30
“28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”

Leviticus 14:5
“5 And the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel over running water:”

• This bird represents Yeshua dying a Sacrificial death in the flesh for our sins.
• The running waters represent eternal life.

Running Water in Hebrew:
• “Running” = “nazal” = to drip, or shed by trickling -- distil, drop, flood, (cause to) flow(-ing), gush out, melt, pour (down), running water, stream (Strong’s Concordance).
• “Water” = “mayim” = water of a spring or well; for drinking; out of a rock; for washing hands, feet, person, vessels, garments, victims; for cooking; for purification; waters of the sea (Red Sea); waters of the flood (Noah); living (i.e. running) water; juice, spring (Strong’s Concordance).

Yeshua talks about “Living Water” (“running water”) in this passage:
John 4:10-14
“10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”
{This passage also shows the adulterous lost house of Israel as the Samarian woman – verses 5-26}

Leviticus 14:6
“6 As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water:”

The living bird represents Yeshua resurrected (after His death on the cross - with the cedar wood, scarlet, hyssop) through the blood (of Yeshua  Who Sacrificed Himself for our sins over running water – over life eternal). Yeshua was killed over eternal life – in other words, He Sacrificed Himself so we could have eternal life.

Leviticus 14:7
“7 And he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field.”

• The one that is to be cleansed represents us -  sinners.
• Leprosy represents our sins – transgressions of the Torah.
• Sprinkled seven times represents our complete, whole cleansing.

The number 7, in Hebrew, represents completion, wholeness, blessing, and rest.
• The Hebrew letter that is used as the number 7 is the letter “zayin”. Zayin represents returning light, and it means “weapon” or “sword”.
• “Seven” in Hebrew is “sheba” or “shiba” = absolute construct; seven (as the sacred full one); also (adverbially) seven times; by implication, a week.
• Seven (the number 7 in Hebrew) can be found in several places in the Bible (see below  for more on the number 7 in the Bible).

Yeshua teaches us to follow Torah because Torah teaches us more about Him and Who He is, as well as more about Yaweh, our Abba Father, and Who He is.

The Number 7 in the Bible:
• Seven (the number 7 in Hebrew) can be found in several places in the Bible, here are a few:

The 7th day of the week is holy to Yaweh – it is the Sabbath Day (Genesis 2:1-3)
This very verse is the 7th in this chapter

Jacob served Laban in 7 year intervals for Leah, Rachel, and his portion of the flock and herds (Genesis 29) and he bowed to his brother 7 times before while approaching him (Genesis 33:3)
Pharaoh’s dream and the years of plenty and years of famine in Joseph’s time were each 7 (Genesis 41)
We are to eat unleavened bread for 7 days (Exodus 12)
We are to count 7 sabbaths after Passover (7 weeks) until Shavuot – Festival of Weeks
Every 7th year is when the servants are to be set free from their bond
Every 7th 7th year is a Jubilee year that represents complete liberty and freedom for the people, their debts, and their land.
Yeshua’s miracle of the 7 loaves and taking up 7 basketfulls
Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, and Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles/Booths/Tents) are all in the 7th Hebrew month of Tishrei

It's All About Yaweh's Torah - From the Beginning in Genesis to the End in Revelation and Beyond

"5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.”

Deuteronomy 11:16
"Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;"

Deuteronomy 11:26-28
"26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;
27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day:
28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known."

Judges 2:16-23
"16 Nevertheless the Lord raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them.
17 And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the Lord; but they did not so.
18 And when the Lord raised them up judges, then the Lord was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it repented the Lord because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them.
19 And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way.
20 And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice;
21 I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died:
22 That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the Lord to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.
23 Therefore the Lord left those nations, without driving them out hastily; neither delivered he them into the hand of Joshua."

Job 15:31

2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."
"9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not."

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven."

6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

Isaiah 2:2-3
"2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem."

18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the Lord will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

Isaiah 66:22-24
"22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.
23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.
24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh."

1 John 3:4
"4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law."

Revelation 22:10-20
"10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus."
