"Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone."
- James 2:17
Faith (trusting Abba) without Works (following Abba's Torah) IS DEAD!!!
"Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by
faith only." - James 2:24
Justification is only obtained by our works and not just by have faith
(trusting in Abba). We must follow His Torah in order to be justified.
"Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils
also believe, and tremble." - James 2:19
Even the enemy and his demons believe in Adonai. Belief alone will not
justify our faith (trust in Abba).
"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without
works is dead also." - James 2:26
"So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law
of liberty." - James 2:12
The law (Torah of Abba) is LIBERTY. We are commanded by Abba to obey
His Torah. James confirms this when he tells us in verse 12 above "so
speak ye, and so do" because we will be judged by Abba according to His
"Law of LIBERTY".
"What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith,
and have not works? can faith save him?" - James 2:14
Faith will not save you if it is not accompanied by following Abba's
Torah. Torah teaches us all about mercy that overcomes judgment - about Yahusha
(Jesus), about how we are to shine Yahusha's Light to everyone in how we treat
them and talk to them, about how we are to BE SET-APART by following Abba's
Shabbats (Abba's Holy Sabbath Days and Feasts).
This is how we show our faith in Abba and how we show our love to Him
for all He has done for us, how we show our love and thankfulness for His Son
Yahusha leaving the Kingdom of Heaven to walk as a meek and humble human
following Abba's Torah and being ridiculed, tortured, humiliated, spat on, hit,
beat, whipped, and mutilated beyond being able to even recognize Him as a human
being, for His Sacrifice being nailed on the cross as our Passover Lamb for our
sins, for His death and resurrection on the third day, and for His ascension
into Heaven on Shavuot, for His sending us His Ruach HaChodesh (Holy Spirit) on
that same day.
Yahusha IS TORAH (the Torah of Abba made flesh) Who came to be our
perfect example of how to walk in Abba's Torah the right way, and not how the
Jews of that time were walking because they added to Abba's Torah their own
laws and we are commanded not to add to and not to take away from Abba's Torah.
John 1:1-2, 9, 14
"1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and
the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God."
"9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh
into the world."
"14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of
grace and truth."
John 17:13-17
"13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world,
that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because
they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that
thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."
1 John 4:1
"1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether
they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."
John 14:15
"15 If ye love me, keep my commandments."
1 John 4:6-13
"6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not
of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of
error.
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one
that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God
sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and
sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God
dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath
given us of his Spirit."
Hebrews 11:24-29
"24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be
called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to
enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures
in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he
endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
28 Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood,
lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
29 By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the
Egyptians assaying to do were drowned."
Moses chose being mistreated along with Abba’s people rather than
enjoying the passing pleasures of sin. He had come to regard abuse suffered on
behalf of the Messiah as greater riches than the treasures of Egypt, for he
kept his eyes fixed on the reward.
Hebrews 11:32-38
"32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell
of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and
Samuel, and of the prophets:
33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained
promises, stopped the mouths of lions.
34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of
weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies
of the aliens.
35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were
tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better
resurrection:
36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover
of bonds and imprisonment:
37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain
with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being
destitute, afflicted, tormented;
38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in
mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth."
1 John 2:15-19
"15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of
the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth
the will of God abideth for ever.
18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that
antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know
that it is the last time.
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been
of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they
might be made manifest that they were not all of us."
James 2:10-26
"10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one
point, he is guilty of all.
11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill.
Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a
transgressor of the law.
12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of
liberty.
13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy;
and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith,
and have not works? can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and
filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the
body; what doth it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy
faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my f"aith by my works.
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils
also believe, and tremble.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered
Isaac his son upon the altar?
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith
made perfect?
23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God,
and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of
God.
24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith
only.
25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she
had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works
is dead also."
Revelation 18:1-4
"1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from
heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great
is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of
every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her
fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and
the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her
delicacies.
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my
people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her
plagues."
Come out of her! Come out of Babylon!
Abba is calling us out of sin. Abba is calling us to return to His
Torah. Abba is calling us to His narrow way.
Matthew 7:12-23
"12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to
you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is
the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth
unto life, and few there be that find it.
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but
inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns,
or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt
tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt
tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast
into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied
in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many
wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me,
ye that work iniquity."
"Iniquity" in Greek is "anomia".
It means: lawlessness, iniquity, disobedience, sin.
Do you want to hear Abba tell you to get away from Him, He doesn't know
you, you never obeyed His Torah, you practiced lawlessness?
Or do you want to hear Him tell you 'Well done good and faithful
servant'?
Matthew 25:29, 31-34, 41, 46
"29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have
abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he
hath."
"31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy
angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
2 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate
them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the
left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye
blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation
of the world:"
"41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from
me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his
angels:"
"46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the
righteous into life eternal."
